SDA stands for Self-Drilling Anchor. It is a hollow, threaded anchor system that combines drilling, anchoring, and grouting into a single installation process.
Unlike conventional anchor systems, an SDA bar can act as the drill string during installation. A sacrificial drill bit is attached to the leading end of the bar, while the hollow center allows air, water, or grout to be injected during drilling and grouting.
SDA systems are widely used for ground stabilization, slope stabilization, tunneling, mining, micropiling, and foundation applications, particularly where ground conditions are loose, fractured, or difficult to drill.
