China-Laos Railway Project

On September 8th, 2016, bidding-winning notice of China-Laos Railway Project was released, which is from Borten to Vientiane and invested by both China and Laos.
China-Laos Railway Project is from Borten, border port between China and Laos, goes through Namtha, Oudomxay, Luang Prabang Province and then arrives at Vientiane, province of Laos. Overall length is 414.332 km, designed stations are 31 and designed speed is 160 km per hour. Construction duration is about 5 years.
China-Laos Railway Project is an important component of Trans-Asian Railway. It can not only improve transport efficiency and level, create plenty of job opportunities for Laos and bring local social and economic development, but also connect with southwest of China, maybe with Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore, and form a steel of the silk road.
China-Laos Railway Project has about 76 tunnels (195 kilometers) and 154 bridges. The safety of tunnel and bridge has direct relationship with normal operation of railway, so slope and tunnel support should be reinforced in time. Rock bolt is the popular supporting method recently, with high efficiency and high safety factor. It combines functions of drilling, grouting and anchoring together, prevents landslide and collapse effectively, and then provides people’s travel with safe environment.
